About
Harmony club is an initiative of faculties from MIT to provide assistance and guidance to students facing financial challenges in their school education and academically left behind students of MIT High School Aurangabad. Harmony club is established in the year 2015. The activities were planned at the beginning of the academic year were accomplished as per the schedule in 2019-20.
‘One day all children will gain an excellent education overcoming economical and social barrier’- is the vision of harmony club
Objectives
- To improve the academic performance of students having lowest academic record from standard VII, IX and X
- To overcome the academic loss of students from the earlier classes
- To improve the confidence level by removing fear about studies and help them setting the carrier path
- To prevent the dropout of the students from the education
- To inculcate achiever attitude amongst students
- Identifying the barriers in learning and finding possible solutions
Methodology
- Thirty students having lowest academic achievement from standard VIII, IX and X are selected in ‘Harmony Club’
- Initial survey is conducted to find out students academic level and their area where they need improvement
- Based on survey data lessons and worksheets are
- On every Friday session is conducted at MIT High School
- In every session their progress is
- Personal counseling is done as per requirement
- Study material in the form of worksheets and books are distributed
- Activity based and game based learning methodology is adopted
- Concentration improvement and meditation activities are conducted
- Teacher student ratio is maintained at 1:10 for personal attention
Results
- Students showed considerable improvement in the studies as evident from worksheets
- Students showed improvement in classroom learning engagement
- In the last academic year batch of X students 70% of the students succeed in the SSC (state board examination)
