The ED Cell, organised a talk on Facing t he Future by Dr. Satish Jayram, Principal IHM, Aurangabad. Total 45 students attended the session and got benefited.
Dr Satish briefed on change of era with the technology from ancient age to current age. He highlighted on the progress of human history with the technological development, by which is meant the invention and diffusion of new skills and knowledge. This claim has two main components. First, as an empirical and predictive thesis: that human history has progressed and regressed as it has enabled or prevented technological change, and that the future progress of humanity is also likely to be characterised as such. Second, that the notion of technological change has special normative value; we should make and do things better Talking about the progress of humanity in these terms allows us to ask an important further question: how should we react to (the prospect of) technological change? The answer to this question is unavoidably a normative enterprise. If we reject (complete) technological determinism, then the actions of present persons are important in at least the following three senses: (i) to decide which technologies are prioritised for development; (ii) to decide what benefits are realised from the development of these technologies and (iii)to appropriately distribute the benefits from the realising these technologies. These questions pose a series of conceptual and ethical problems that are critical for decisions made about the future of humanity. He also highlighted on innovations to support human being, animals, farmers and improvement of social life.
The session was very interactive, and students participated in questionnaire too.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) is an initiative of MIT to foster growth of Innovation & Entrepreneurship and develop entrepreneurship culture among the students of the institute. The ED Cell has organized a talk on Start up to Start by MIT Alumni Mr. Abhishek Mali & Mr. Kaustubh Jadhav who owns their start up by the name Start up Machine. The Session was started with the Preamble by Dr. Abhilasha Mishra. She discussed the aim, vision & mission of ED Cell. She also briefed the objectives of ED Cell and motivated all the students to become the active member of the cell.
The speakers briefed the audience about how they help the other startups with network, mentors and strategies so that they could sustain for longer duration in the market. The team Start up Machine conducted an Entrepreneurial activity in which they invited an idea from students. Based on the audience response one idea has been selected for making the business model. Practically they taught to make that innovative idea (Smart Street Lights) into start up.
The Start up Machine had collaboration with “ Homebrew” a computer hub, which is currently operating from MIT itself, so the team encouraged the students to come on to start-up community. The Start up Machine also collaborated with “ CASUAL HAI” that is a t-shirt firm from MIT itself for merchandise. The Start up Machine has 12 startups under their ecosystems and they are helping them to grow gradually with new strategies and funding. The Start up Machine’s vision is to encourage more and more students from MIT College to get into start-ups as it is formed by the MIT Alumni and the team is ready to support enthusiastic students in all ways.
The session was conducted for 2 hrs with student communities’ enthusiastic participation.

The member of IEEE student branch (MIT) and the ED Cell, organised a one day workshop on Amazon Alexa on 24th of September 2019 at Hall no 408. The total 41 students attended this workshop. There was a small introduction to Homebrew by Omkar Bahewal during the inauguration program.
In November 2014, Amazon announced Alexa alongside the Echo. Alexa was inspired by the computer voice and conversational system on board the Starship Enterprise in science fiction TV series and movies, beginning with Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Amazon developers chose the name Alexa because it has a hard consonant with the X, which helps it be recognized with higher precision. They have said the name is reminiscent of the Library of Alexandria, which is also used by Amazon Alexa Internet for the same reason.In June 2015, Amazon announced Alexa Fund, a program that would invest in companies making voice control skills and technologies. The US$100 million in funds has invested in companies including ecobee, Orange Chef, Scout Alarm, Garageio, Toymail, MARA, and Mojio. In 2016, the Alexa Prize was announced to advance the technology.
In January 2017, the first Alexa Conference took place in Nashville, Tennessee, an independent gathering of the worldwide community of Alexa developers and enthusiasts. ] The follow-up has been announced, to be keynoted by original Amazon Alexa / Connected Home product head Ahmed Bouzid.
At the Amazon Web Services Re:Invent conference in Las Vegas, Amazon announced Alexa for Business and the ability for app developers to have paid add-ons to their skills.
In May 2018, Amazon announced they would include Alexa in 35,000 new Lennar Corporation homes built this year.
In November 2018, Amazon opened its first Alexa-themed pop-up shop inside of Toronto’s Eaton Centre, showcasing the use of home automation products with Amazon’s smart speakers. Amazon also sells Alexa devices at Amazon Books and Whole Foods Market locations, in addition to mall-based pop-ups throughout the United States.
In April 2019, Amazon announced the expansion of Alexa to Brazil, in Portuguese, together with Bose, Intelbras, and LG.
Mr Hannan Satopay Introduced all the students about Amazon Alexa and also demonstrated its skills. He also introduced us to several skills. The API data was also developed by using Voice Flow. Development of Trivia Skills using coding in Node.js was taught.
It was a very interactive and learning based questionnaire session where Mr. Hannan also asked students to play a skit for better understanding of the device.

The Entrepreneurship & Development Cell & In Plant Training Cell organized a 2 hrs talk on Entrepreneurship Awareness Generation Program at MIT on 26 th & 27 th Feb 2020 by the mentors of Bajaj Auto –Bhartiya Yuva Shakti Trust.
The invited speakers are 1)
Mr. Jignesh Sahastrakar from Bajaj Auto –Bhartiya Yuva Shakti Trust briefed about the different programs run under the flagship of BYST. He explained in details about the mentorship that A mentor will be allotted for each team or a student till 2 years, after that there will be a meeting in a time span of 6 months till the person’s business is well settled.
The mentor will be provided free of cost, and then the student itself can become someone’s mentor.
Both the speakers , highlighted on following points which are essential key point to be an entrepreneur like
- Role of Government Banks and safety for the customers
- Different Schemes launched by the Government.
- How to apply for the loan?
- When will bank provide you loan?
- How to make the project report
- How to maintain ethics at your work place?
- How to become an ethical entrepreneur?
It was a very interactive and learning session where both the speakers encouraged students to actively contribute in Entrepreneurship development/start ups.
