    : The Objective was to understand practical aspects of coil winding, winding installation, assembly and testing of motors. Key points about visit: The Department of Electrical Engineering organized an Industrial visit at “Proton Motors” on 16/03/2016 for Second Year students of Electrical Engineering. Proton Electro Motor is an ISO 9001 Company, established in 1975, a leading manufacturer of high performance, low maintenance electrical motors and pumps for agriculture, pharmaceuticals, plastics, sugar, chemical, Textile industries and steel plants, Ginning and oil mills. Proton energy efficient motors are built with robust IP44/ IP 55 construction which refer to IS: 7538.

    Chitte Pimpalgaon, Aurangabad (26th August 2016)

    Objective : To understand practical aspects of Grid.
    Key points about visit: The Department of Electrical Engineering organized an Industrial visit at “PGCIL Chitte-Pimpalgaon Subsation” on 26th August 2016 for Third Year students of Electrical Engineering. An electrical grid is an interconnected network for delivering electricity from producers to consumers. It consists of generating stations that produce electrical power, high voltage transmission lines that carry power from distant sources to demand centers, and distribution lines that connect individual customers.

    HVDC- Padghe Terminal Substation (27th Jan 2017)

    Objective : To understand practical aspects HVDC substations. Key points about visit: The Department of Electrical Engineering organized an Industrial visit at “HVDC- Padghe” on 27/01/2017 for Third Year students of Electrical Engineering. The Chandrapur –Padghe Transmission system is an HVDC connection between Chandrapur and Padghe (near Mumbai) in the state of Maharashtra in India, which was put into service in 1999.
    It connects the coal-fired Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station to the major load centre of Mumbai. The project has a 752 kilometers (467 mi) long bipolar overhead line. The transmission voltage is ±500 kV and the maximum transmission power is 1,500 megawatts. The scheme uses thyristor valves, arranged in a single twelve pulse bridge per pole. The project was built by ABB and BHEL, and is owned by Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB).

  • SDLC Kalwa (28th Jan 2017)

    Objective : To understand practical aspects of Load Dispatch Centre. Key points about visit: The Department of Electrical Engineering organized an Industrial visit at “SLDC Kalwa” on 28/01/2017 for Third Year students of Electrical Engineering. Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company limited, a wholly owned corporate entity under the Maharashtra Government, was incorporated under the Companies Act, in June, 2005 after restructuring the erstwhile Maharashtra State Electricity Board to transmit electricity from its point of Generation to its point of Distribution.
    The load dispatch center is the nerve centre for the operation, monitoring and control of the power system. The SLDC Kalwa near Mumbai is fully computerized and has ultra modern facilities.
